General
How much does custom software cost for a small business?
A working prototype, in about a week, is $2,500. Most finished software runs $5,000 to $10,000. That’s possible because modern tools do a lot of the heavy lifting, not because we cut corners. You get the exact price before we start, we don’t bill by the hour, and we can stick around to keep improving it for $500 a month and up.
Can custom software cost less than the subscriptions we pay for now?
Often, yes. Add up every subscription and per-user fee you pay each month. If you’re replacing several of them, one system built around how you work, plus optional support from $500 a month, may cost less over time. We’ll do the math with you in the free consult.
Will my crew actually use it?
That’s the first thing we test. Your crew tries the prototype on their own phones in the first week. If it’s slower than the group text, we keep working on it.
How long does it take?
About a week for a working prototype you can use. Using it shows what you really need, and we build in small steps from there instead of one big release that might miss the mark.
Who owns the data?
You do. Every tool we build includes an easy export, so you can take your data anywhere, any time.
Should I buy an off-the-shelf product or get custom software?
Buy the product if it fits how you work. Custom makes sense when you’re paying for three products that don’t talk to each other, or your team works around the software instead of with it. We’ll tell you which one you need.
What does The Parker County Software Company do?
We build custom software for small businesses in Parker County: work orders, scheduling, billing, booking, customer portals and lead tracking. We also connect the software you already pay for so it works together.
Where are you?
Aledo. We work with businesses across Parker County, including Weatherford, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks, Springtown, Azle, Millsap, Annetta and Peaster, and we meet in person at your shop or over coffee.
How long have you been building software?
Since 2007. We’ve co-founded and sold a software platform and built systems for national media companies and brands. Modern tools now let us build that kind of software at a small-business price.
What affects the price?
How many kinds of people use it, whether your customers log in, payments, connections to tools like QuickBooks or Salesforce, moving old data, and how many screens it needs.
Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If it isn’t easy to use on a phone, we haven’t finished.
Can you work with the tools we already use?
Yes. We connect to QuickBooks, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Square and Stripe.
Do you build websites?
No. We build the software a business runs on: job tracking, scheduling, billing, customer portals and automation that works with your existing tools. It can connect to the website you already have.
Trades and field service crews
What kinds of trade businesses do you build for?
Any business that sells a job and then sends a crew: artificial turf, landscaping, fencing, pavers, septic, pools and roofing.
Can my crew use it without seeing prices?
Yes. Crew job sheets show the address, scope, photos and notes. Prices stay in the office.
Can custom software replace Jobber or ServiceTitan?
It can be. Those work well for a lot of crews. Custom makes sense when you’re paying for features you don’t use or working around how they schedule. We’ll tell you which fits in the consult.
Will my crew actually use it?
Crews get one screen: today’s address, scope, photos and notes. No prices. If it’s slower than the group text, we haven’t finished.
Home builders and remodelers
Can custom software replace Buildertrend?
If you need it to be. Most small builders only need a buyer portal, change orders and weekly updates. We build that and connect it to what you already use.
Machine shops and fabricators
Can custom software work alongside our ERP?
Yes. We pull jobs and part numbers from what you use now and add what’s missing, like faster quoting or a shop floor board.
Horse trainers, barns and ranches
Can you build barn management software for a cutting horse trainer in Weatherford?
Yes. We build custom barn management and billing software for trainers, boarding barns and ranches in Weatherford and across Parker County: per-horse charges, split vet and farrier bills, owner updates and monthly statements, built around how your barn runs.
Do my owners need to download an app?
No. Owners get a link that works on any phone to see updates and statements and pay online.
Does it work in a barn with bad signal?
Screens are built for phones and kept light so they load on weak signal.
How much does custom barn management software cost?
A working prototype is $2,500 in about a week. Most finished barn software runs $5,000 to $10,000, priced before we start. Optional support starts at $500 a month.
Dealership management systems
Can you build software for a golf cart dealer?
Yes. We built the shop software and lead system Aledo Golf Carts runs on: inventory, service, customers, deals and parts, with every inquiry turned into a deal. Yours would be built around how your dealership works.
Can it sync with my inventory feed?
It syncs inventory from MotorCode. We can also import from spreadsheets or the system you use now.
How is custom dealer software priced?
One price before we start. Optional support starts at $500 a month.
